On 22 February, Mr. Peter Cheng Kar-Shing, Chairman and Ms. Leonie Ki Man-Fung, Governor of the Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation and the most respected composer Mr. Joseph Koo Kar-Fai celebrate the Lantern Festival with the elderlies.  The Home Visit to the Elderly programme organized periodical visits to show care and warmth to the seniors.

Hong Kong’s wealth gap reaches ‘tipping point’ under Covid as unemployment rises among poor, Oxfam says

The pandemic has worsened Hong Kong’s wealth gap, with the city’s poorest making 47 times less than its richest residents, Oxfam Hong Kong has said. In the pre-Covid era, the highest earners made 34.3 times more.

Record number of people gave to charity globally in 2021

A record number of people donated money to charities or assisted strangers in 2021 after three-year long reduction in 2018, according to the World Giving Index 2022.

At the other end of the spectrum, half of the countries or regions which declined the most in 2021 included Hong Kong, down by 13 percentage points.
