Chow Tai Fook Medical Foundation cares about mental wellbeing and especially those with mental health needs. Chairman Mr. Peter Cheng and Governor of the foundation Dr. Kelvin Ho recently paid a visit to the Sheltered Workshop and Integrated Vocational rehabilitation Service Centre of the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association.

Chow Tai Fook Medical Foundation joined force with Fu Tak Iam Foundation and Shih Wing Ching Foundation in funding the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association on the Psychiatric Medical Subsidy and Community Support Project.

The project offers treatment provided by private psychiatrists for patients with financial difficulties and are on the waiting list for psychiatric specialist outpatient services in public hospitals, so as to avoid delayed treatment and reduce the acute demand.

Hong Kong’s wealth gap reaches ‘tipping point’ under Covid as unemployment rises among poor, Oxfam says

The pandemic has worsened Hong Kong’s wealth gap, with the city’s poorest making 47 times less than its richest residents, Oxfam Hong Kong has said. In the pre-Covid era, the highest earners made 34.3 times more.

Record number of people gave to charity globally in 2021

A record number of people donated money to charities or assisted strangers in 2021 after three-year long reduction in 2018, according to the World Giving Index 2022.

At the other end of the spectrum, half of the countries or regions which declined the most in 2021 included Hong Kong, down by 13 percentage points.
