Promoting Funders' Collective Efforts

Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation, a member of the steering committee of the Hong Kong Funders’ Network on Ageing Well, organised a cocktail reception on 26 March 2018 for members to meet and share their insights into how they can work together for good causes.

Formed by several funders in 2016, the Hong Kong Funders’ Network on Ageing Well is a platform for collective efforts in supporting ageing-related initiatives in Hong Kong. It aims to strengthen sector capacity, enhance the service models and advocate policy development. The Funders’ Network currently has 18 members, with regularly meetings to discuss the latest elderly issues and development.

Hong Kong’s wealth gap reaches ‘tipping point’ under Covid as unemployment rises among poor, Oxfam says

The pandemic has worsened Hong Kong’s wealth gap, with the city’s poorest making 47 times less than its richest residents, Oxfam Hong Kong has said. In the pre-Covid era, the highest earners made 34.3 times more.

Record number of people gave to charity globally in 2021

A record number of people donated money to charities or assisted strangers in 2021 after three-year long reduction in 2018, according to the World Giving Index 2022.

At the other end of the spectrum, half of the countries or regions which declined the most in 2021 included Hong Kong, down by 13 percentage points.
